- Libraries For Low Income Group Schools
- Specially Curated Books To Suit Literacy Needs
- Happy Reading Environment With New Furniture And Books
Ninety percent of schools for low-income groups do not have libraries. The so-called libraries in the remaining ten percent comprise a handful of books kept in locked cupboards. These books generally do not cater to the literacy levels of the students and are, therefore, of little interest to them. Moreover, children from low-income groups do not have the resources to access books outside of the school library.
Realising this gap, Angelique Foundation started the Angelique Pustakalaya to set up functional libraries in schools with books that are relevant to the age group and the literacy levels of the students.
The goal is to provide a friendly environment where children can discover the world of imagination and knowledge while improving their communication skills, without even leaving their district.
